The 5FA Identity Layer incorporates the following five distinct elements to ensure a secure authentication process:

  • Ownership of the Device: This factor verifies that the access attempt is being made from a recognized device. It ensures that the user is in possession of the device registered to the account, often verified through a unique device ID or certificate.

  • Knowledge Factors (Password/Phone): This layer requires the user to provide information that only they should know, such as a password, PIN, or an answer to a security question. It may also involve sending a code to a verified phone number that the user must enter to proceed.

  • User Behavior Metrics: By analyzing patterns in user behavior, such as typical login times, transaction patterns, or typing speed, the system can detect any deviation that might indicate fraudulent activity.

  • 3D Biometrics: This involves advanced biometric verification such as facial recognition that maps the user’s face in three dimensions. This is more complex and secure than traditional 2D facial recognition, as it requires the physical presence of the user and is harder to deceive with photos or videos.

  • Voice Signature: Voice biometrics is used to verify the user's identity based on their voice patterns. It involves analyzing the unique characteristics of the user’s voice to ensure that the person speaking is indeed the account holder.

These five layers work together to create a robust security system that can effectively protect user identities and sensitive data. By requiring multiple factors of authentication, 5FA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to users' accounts.
